Community Dialogue - WPGBC

Our next Community Dialogue:
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2019 @ 7:00 PM

Topics on the “short list” for our next discussion include:

  • MISSION – what is ours? Not just our mission statement, but why do we exist and how is God sending us?

  • FRESH VISION – if we were planting a church in this neighbourhood, what would we do starting Day 1?

  • FUTURE CONGREGATION – who are we handing the baton to?

  • YOUTH – how do we create space for youth and integrate them meaningfully in our church community?

  • STAFF – what has been our experience, and how do we see the role of staff in the future?

Thank you to all those who participated in our first Community Dialogue!
I was impressed by the love, unity and kindness of this gathering last Friday night - truly an answer to our prayers. As we listened to each other, I believe we began to hear God’s heart for this church and for those to whom we’re sent.

  • We had an open, honest and encouraging conversation, and we engaged with several important topics.

  • About 45 people attended – roughly half of our average Sunday attendance or our registered membership.

  • Of those who attended, we heard from 27 people, or about 60% of the gathered group.

  • People were able to ask questions of the leadership as well as share comments with the group.

Our conversation set a marvelous tone, and we agreed to gather for another Community Dialogue - likely in the fall; we’ll schedule a date in the next few weeks. You can check for updates on our community dialogues here

If you sense there are other topics we should be exploring, please speak with John, Jonathan Wilson or any of your deacons.

Please continue to pray for our church community and our discernment process.
