English Conversation Groups
[January 12 - March 9th, 2026]

MONDAYS

9:30-11:00 am (at the church)
- Reading Group (facilitator: Joey Hsieh)
  Content: Reading short and meaningful texts such as famous speeches, short essays, and selected passages from books
  English competence level: all welcome
11:00 am-12:15 pm (at the church)
- Participant-led Topical Discussion Group (facilitators: Myrnal & Dave Hawes)
  Content: participants take the lead in choosing a topic or particular question they’d like to discuss and share about. Myrnal and Dave will be there to help.
  English competence level: Intermediate
1:00-2:30 pm (on Zoom)
- The Joy Group (facilitators: Loretta Huang & Mabel Chau)
  Content: Sharing and free conversation on various topics, a study of Bible characters (Old Testament), relating to Biblical truth to everyday living.
  English competence level: Beginner and Intermediate

TUESDAYS

9:15-10:30 am (at the church)
- Everyday Conversation Group (facilitators: Lorraine Geddes, Tilly Kwong and Rachel Lee)
  Content: Discussing general topics from everyday life activities, or any other topics determined by the participants.
  English competence level: Beginner and Intermediate
10:30 am-12:00 pm (at the church)
- Everything Relational Group (facilitators: Joey Hsieh)
  Content: Exploring ideas and simple practices that help us become more aware of ourselves and others in relationships. Our goal is to grow authentic, meaningful relationships — with others and with ourselves.
  English competence level: All are welcome
12:00 pm-2:15vpm (at the church) [January 13 - March 10, 2026]
- Alpha (sessions in English and Mandarin)
  Content: Alpha is a widely known and appreciated international program where the basics of Christianity can be explored and everyone is given the opportunity to ask questions without any pressure. It begins with lunch Mandarin) followed by a discussion. Believers and non-believers are most welcome to this no pressure forum!
  Language: English and Mandarin

THURSDAYS

10:00 am-12:00 noon (at the church)
- Communication Practice Group (facilitator: Joey Hsieh)
  Content: Developing practical skills to strengthen everyday communication across different types of relationships. Through guided role-play, we practice active listening, acceptance, compassionate responses, and healthy power-aware dialogue.
  English competence level: Advanced
12:30-2:30 pm
- Mandarin Bible Discussion Group (facilitator: Joey Hsieh)
  Content: Exploring selected Bible passages or short books, such as Philimon, through thoughtful and lively discussion. Together, we seek to understand Biblical principles and reflect on how they apply to our real-life situations.
