Lenten Sermon Series 2026

Around the Table - Lent 2026

Around the Table: A Lenten Journey with Jesus
Lent is a season that invites us to slow down, reflect, and prepare our hearts for the hope of Easter. This year, our sermon series is called “Around the Table.” Together, we will walk through the Gospel of Luke and explore the many meals Jesus shared with others. These were not ordinary meals. Every table Jesus sat at revealed something about God’s grace, God’s kingdom, and God’s invitation to us. Ultimately, each of these meals points us forward to the Lord’s Supper: the meal that helps us remember Jesus’ sacrifice and celebrate His victory.

Meals were central to the ministry of Jesus. He taught at tables, welcomed outsiders at tables, forgave sinners at tables, and built community at tables. Jesus often used meals to show that everyone is invited into God’s family. Tax collectors, Pharisees, friends, and strangers all found a place near Him. In a world that often divided people, Jesus created spaces of belonging. Around the table, barriers came down and hearts were changed.

As we journey through Lent, we will see how these meals gradually lead us to the Last Supper. There, Jesus gave new meaning to bread and wine, showing His disciples that His body would be broken and His blood poured out for the salvation of the world. The table became a place of remembrance, grace, and promise.

It is striking that when Jesus asked us to remember Him, He did not point us to a monument or a ritual alone, He gave us a meal. The Lord’s Supper reminds us that faith is not distant or abstract. It is personal, relational, and nourishing. Just as food sustains our bodies, Christ sustains our souls.

This series is an invitation. Come hungry. Come ready to listen. Come prepared to encounter Jesus in a fresh way. Whether you have followed Christ for many years or are simply curious about faith, there is a seat for you at this table.
